Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: Sorcha Date: 29 Aug 03 - 10:56 AM Lorcan, Malcolm said in this thread that it is usually the same tune as Anach Cuain. Does that help? |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 29 Aug 03 - 11:13 AM Though I'd better mention that it's also sung to a variant of Youghal Harbour, so it will depend on where you learnt it. |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: InOBU Date: 29 Aug 03 - 11:59 AM Youghal Harbour, so it will depend on where you learnt it. .... on the purple ablum of Brady and Irvine... All ska doo... as I don't read music, if someone could just put down a verce with the C A etc. over it, it would be GREAT! Again, with thanks Larry |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: MartinRyan Date: 26 Feb 09 - 02:57 PM Sorry, Mooh - what were you looking for? Words are in the DT - tune file seems to be missing. FWIW I recognise neither Youghal Harbour (Boolavogue) nor Anach Cuan in the tune I usually hear for this song. Regards |

FWIW I recognise neither Youghal Harbour (Boolavogue) nor Anach Cuan in the tune I usually hear for this song. Words I have from the DT, but I'm unfamiliar with the melody and chords that I find too, as you mentioned. I need the melody and chords as the original poster wanted. Thanks. Peace, Mooh. |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: MartinRyan Date: 26 Feb 09 - 07:42 PM In fact, having been demented by the two tunes for the last few hours, I reckon the tune IS quite close to Anach Cuan (second part, basically). Regards |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: Mooh Date: 26 Feb 09 - 08:10 PM Thanks, I'll have a look (found it at the session.com). If it's the tune the chords will be easy. Peace, Mooh. |

Subject: RE: Chord Req: Streets of Derry From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 03 Nov 09 - 11:35 AM I was curious, and I've found a version of Streets of Derry here: http://www.8notes.com/scores/6464.asp?ftype=gif Does it look like the version that's wanted? It may be a beautiful tune, but I don't want to work on chords for it, because it moves stepwise so much. It will take more time to work it out than I can afford. But perhaps finding the sticks and dots will help someone else. |
